Project background

This project involved the design and installation of a cutting-edge 616 kWp solar PV system at Mooi Rivier Junction shopping centre, located in the vibrant Van der Hoffpark area of Potchefstroom. Powered by five state-of-the-art SMA Core 2 inverters with a combined capacity of 550 kW, the system delivers clean, reliable, and high-performance solar energy to one of the area’s most prominent commercial destinations. This forward-thinking renewable energy solution significantly reduces the centre’s dependence on the national grid, lowers electricity costs, and reinforces Mooi Rivier Junction’s reputation as a modern, sustainability-driven retail hub at the heart of the Potchefstroom community.
