Service: Solar PV
Project background
Sustainability was essential when construction began on this new shopping centre project. The development group installed a solar PV system to reduce its carbon footprint. The system consists of the first 5 x SMA STP110-60 CORE-2 inverters installed in South Africa and 1400 x 440W modules. This accounts for 48% of the total energy requirements. Compared to fossil fuel-based sources, the system helps avoid 657 tons of CO2 emissions annually. This is equivalent to planting 35770 trees every year.
